My work is grounded in a person-centred and psychodynamic approach. I am guided by the therapeutic values of unconditional positive regard, empathy and congruence, and I aim to offer a space that reflects these values, one in which you can feel safe, heard and understood.
Rather than focusing solely on managing symptoms or offering quick strategies, this approach seeks to understand deeper emotional patterns. Together, we explore not only what is happening in your life now, but also your past experiences.
If you have been in therapy but still feel as though something remains unresolved, this can be disheartening. There are many types of therapy, and not all approaches work in the same way for everyone. Psychodynamic therapy offers something different, and it may provide you with a step forward.
The first session is an opportunity for me to begin getting to know you. You are free to speak about whatever feels important to you at your own pace.
Some people arrive with something specific they wish to talk about, while others may not know where to begin. Both are entirely welcome.
No preparation is needed. You can simply come as you are.
Psychodynamic work focuses less on giving advice and more on helping you understand yourself more deeply, so you can make your own choices with greater clarity.
Online therapy can be just as effective as in-person therapy for many people. What matters most is the quality of the therapeutic relationship and having a private, consistent space where you feel able to speak openly.
Some people find it easier to talk from the familiarity of their own environment, while others prefer meeting in person. Both formats can support meaningful therapeutic work.
You will need a private and quiet space and a stable internet connection. Some people prefer a face-to-face video session, while others choose to have an audio-only session.
Yes. Everything discussed in therapy is confidential, with rare legal exceptions (for example, serious risk of harm to yourself or others).
Each session is 50 minutes. Psychodynamic psychotherapy is typically open-ended and longer-term. Some people attend for months, while others continue for years depending on their needs.
We can review this together.
Psychodynamic psychotherapy sessions usually take place once or twice weekly at a regular time, as consistency supports the therapeutic process. Fortnightly sessions can also be arranged.
